Hello Heroes! ..and Villians.
My friends at Distinctive Dummies have a new addition to their Hammer Horror series of figures. In the past they have released 12 inch figures of iconic Hammer characters like Oliver Reed's Werewolf and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing.
Their latest offering is just as spectacular, it is the Christopher Lee version of the Mummy. How about some pictures:

One of our favorite podcast is the Fearshop Horror Podcast. Hosted by Frank and Mike, who usually spend the show arguing, review various horror flicks ranging from old school classics to the new movies of today. If you have not heard them yet, give ‘em a subscribe on iTunes.

We went to Monsterpalooza in Burbank last week and had a blast! For those not in the know Monsterpalooza is an amazing horror convention that more about the art of horror. Sure, there are guests and films, but it mostly features sculpts, masks and effects.
There is even a fantastic museum there, it really is a very cool experience. I’ll post some more pictures up this week, in the meantime here’s one with Tanya and Mike Hill’s life-size creation; Hammer’s Werewolf. It’s a perfect homage to Oliver Reed.
Special thanks to Corpsy of Girls and Corpses magazine for letting us hang out with them. Monsterpaloooza is an awesome event, be sure to check it out next year!

It’s well known that both Tanya and I are big Hammer Horror fans. If you love those movies as much as us, you gotta pick up the magazine Little Shoppe of Horrors. It’s really is the most in depth coverage of the Hammer Films. I first happened across it about 15 years ago with the Dracula “unofficial” trilogy of Dracula Has Risen From the Grave, Taste the Blood of Dracula and Scars of Dracula issue back when I was still doing work as an extra (or background actor) in Burbank. I’ve been following this magazine ever since and it continues to be a great read. Every issue is a labor of love with in-depth coverage, amazing artwork (some of which is by Bruce Timm of Batman: The Animated Series fame), incredible interviews and more. For the cover price of around $10 it is far worth it’s price.
So pick up a few issues for your self by going on to the website, http://www.littleshoppeofhorrors.com. You won’t regret it.
